Curacao, Sunset Waters Resort

Curacao is the largest of the ABC Islands, both in size and population, and only 50 miles from Venezuela. The water temp is expected to be in the 82 - 84 degree range (last time I was there it was 80 degrees in November).
Sunset Water is an All Inclusive Resort, located in the Southwest corner of the Island, right next to Mushroom Forrest. The hotel is renowned for its beautiful crescent shaped beach, serene and secluded location, easiest access to Curacao's premier diving sites, and spectacular snorkeling and Curacao scuba diving in the lagoon and on the teeming house reef [according to Undercurrent there are both Seahorses and Frogfish on the house reef]. We always bring a few volumes of Undercurrent to the meetings, so you can read for yourself.
Take a tour of the hotels website – there are a lot of nice pictures and descriptions of all the non diving activities that are possible. There are shuttles to downtown Willemstad (looks like Amsterdam!) on many days during the week.
We dive two boat dives (6 days). Another reason to pick the Insel Air connection is because it leaves later Sunday morning. Free beach diving. Nitrox is $50 additional. There should be an optional afternoon trip ($50) to West Punt, the closest you can get to diving the “wild side”, w/ the best fish live for the Island.
The Initial sign-up deadline is Monday Jan 12th to ensure that we can all get the $100 incentive discount for Curacao’s new national airline “Insel Air”. Luggage allowance is 2 x 66 lb bags.
