Diving the Bahamas on the Gulf Stream Eagle

by Linda Caldwell

On the evening of Thursday, May 11, ten USA’ers and six fellow divers boarded the Gulf Stream Eagle for a fun trip to West End, Bahamas. Leo came all the way from Austria to join us.

Captain Rob was very accommodating in choosing dive sites. Chef Jon (Mark’s son) served delicious food seasoned with his cute personality. Those meals were supplemented with scrumptious desserts, samples that diver Nancy B brought from her bakery business in Weston. We helped Crewmate John C. celebrate his birthday. The rest of the friendly Crew were Eduardo, Laine, his wife Nicki and Gigi the Wonder Dog.

Mother’s Day was observed in a unique way. Up at 6:30 a.m. for a shark dive! There’s nothing like having 3 tiger sharks and a 6 ft. lemon shark cruise around you. It was an exciting way to start the day.

The photographers seemed happy with subjects from sharks to Yellowhead Jawfish. Ryan C. captured great footage of one of these Jawfish aerating his eggs.

In the “New use for old products department”, ask a trip participant what tampons and duct tape were used for.

Thanks, LT, for leading a great trip. Trip participants were Marie Y, Kathi and Steve M, Danny M, Nils J, Robecca and Bob P, Ken B, Ryan C, Leo, Deb and Tom (from Jupiter), Nancy and Ray B, and Linda C.
