Roatan Trip in Review |
|
On July, 9, 1998 USA divers took a van to Miami to catch a flight on TACA airlines to the Honduran island of Roatan. Once on Roatan, we were taken by bus and boat to a little bit of paradise, CoCo View Resort. After a checkout shore dive the next morning, we met our divemaster for the week, Tulio, and the BLUE boat. The resort had a red boat and a teal boat too but the BLUE boat was the best boat. By the end of the week, we had no doubt that Tulio was also the best divemaster. Tulio’s version of "Dive, Dive, Dive" was "Get off my boat!" Roatan diving was all walls, alive with coral and small fish. You might ask Sean (Bob Horin) if he really did getlost in Mary’s Crack. Happy hour was spent looking for the ray that lived in the shallow water in front of the resort. While four of the group decided to do a morning dive on our last day, five of us took an island hopper over to the mainland to go white water rafting in a rain forest. Sheri Boudreaux did think that she was supposed to spend part of the raft trip with the raft on top of her. The weather was perfect, the seas calm, the diving fine, and the USA group great. |
