Located just 60 miles north of Venezuela at 12 degrees North (below the hurricane belt), the nation of Grenada is actually comprised of three separate islands: Grenada, Carriacou and Petit Martinique. Grenada, the largest of the three islands, is a colorful, hearty travel destination, known as the "Spice Island" for its large scale production of nutmeg, cinnamon, mace, cloves, and ginger. It has a rugged, mountainous terrain with interior rain forests, spectacular waterfalls and a coastline with protected bays and beaches. Grenada is still an undiscovered paradise for beach-going and adventure travelers, especially divers. Tourism is still small scale in Grenada. Granada can be considered Caribbean "still the way is was supposed to be"

The Grenadines, a twin nation group of lush & beautiful tropical islands, stretch from Grenada in the south to the neighboring independent nation of St. Vincent, to the north. This magnificent island chain is governed by both Grenada & St. Vincent with the border separating the two countries running between the tiny islands of Petit Martinique (Grenada) to the south and Petit St. Vincent (St. Vincent) to the north. Water temperatures usually remain around 80F, requiring only a skin for both comfort and safety. Hundreds of species of fish provide a dazzling array of color as they swim through the diverse growths of coral.

You will be diving where only "a few divers" have gone before, from custom designed, rigid bottom inflatable dive tenders. We will be diving both Leeward and Windward Island, on a flexible itinerary. Diving is a combination of rich, prolific and extremely healthy coral reefs to dramatic volcanic formations around offshore islets and rocks etc. Normal vis is 60-120 feet.

The Grande Finale of the week, weather permitting, being a dive on the "Titanic of the Caribbean," the wreck of the cruise ship "Bianca C," arguably the largest ship wreck in the Caribbean and one NOT intentionally sunk, as an artificial reef!

Marine life, while typically Caribbean is found in great abundance, and photographers will fine wide angle to macro photographic opportunities to rival the best the Caribbean has to offer. Hard & soft corals, sponges, crustaceans & fish large & small flourish in these undiscovered nutrient rich waters. I just talked photo with a professional video photographer in New York, and she was very pleased with the diving in the grenadines.
